流れた曲は、サンバ調の

いい感じの曲に出会えました。
早速、ネットで調べてもあまり情報なし。
YouTubeにEPタイトルの曲が一曲だけありました。
気に入った局とは、少しジャンルが違う曲なのですが、
何回か聞いいていると、悪くないかも・・・。

COLORS 2.0 is very proud and excited to release its debut album, BRAND NEW DAY.
COLORS 2.0 is the revival of COLORS, an outstanding Contemporary Jazz / Funk / R&B group in the early ’90s based in LA, which performed alongside Spyro Gyra, Lee Ritenour, Keiko Matsui, Ronnie Laws, Curtis Mayfield and Many other notable artists.
Brian Sherman, Keyboardist and Co-Founder of the original COLORS, has revived this special band 20+ years later in the updated, new and improved version: COLORS 2.0. COLORS 2.0 serves as the creative platform for Brian’s growing catalog of original material as well as contributions from close and extremely talented musical compatriots. “BRAND NEW DAY” is the title track of COLORS 2.0’s first of many album releases.
Appearing on COLORS 2.0’s debut album are some GREAT musicians alongside Brian — including 2 Core Members of the original group — Rob McDonald (Bass) and Toshi Yanagi (Guitar).
Rob McDonald BASS: Rob has performed with such greats as Chaka Khan, Jeffrey Osborne, Jeff Lorber, Patti Austin, Brenda Russell, Norman Brown, Minda Abair, Toni Braxton and Many others. He hails from the Motor City of Detroit, is based in LA and is arguably THE funkiest bass player you will ever hear. Period.
Toshi Yanagi GUITARS: Toshi hails from Tokyo, Japan and has made LA his home for the past 20+ years. He has been performing as the in-house guitarist on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show for 8+ years. Toshi has also toured with Bryan Adams and Sheryl Crow, performed with Greg Phillinganes regularly on Quincy Jones’ “VIBE” show, the Martin Short and Wayne Brady Shows, and is one of THE hottest studio guitarists in LA. In addition to seeing him on Jimmy Kimmel Live nightly you can catch Toshi regularly in person at The Baked Potato in Universal City.
Brian Sherman KEYBOARDS / PIANOS: is the primary creative and business force behind COLORS 2.0 and has a truly “COLORFUL” background in both the music and business worlds. He resides in San Diego – “America’s Finest City” but LA acts as his second home given that’s where the Music Action is…. In addition to having an MBA from Stanford Business School, he is a serial entrepreneur and has co-founded and operated several retail / consumer businesses here in the States, Madrid, Spain and Stockholm, Sweden. He has played music professionally since he’s 14, paid his way through college at UC Berkeley (psychology major) performing in 500 shows in various San Francisco theaters as Musical Director for “Beyond the Fringe”, a British comedy revue. He’s performed at the Monterey and Concord Jazz Festivals, received the First Annual Dave Brubeck Award for Original Jazz Composition & Performance, performed on same bill with Spyro Gyra, Lee Ritenour, Dave Brubeck, Curtis Mayfield, Manhattan Transfer, Freddie Hubbard, Keiko Matsui, George Shearing and MANY others.

As a vocalist, composer and pianist John has also backed Dionne Warwick, Oleta Adams, Mavis Staples, David Hasselhoff, Boys 2 Men, Queen Latifah, Brenda Russell, Stephanie Mills, Sam Harris, Regina Belle, Vesta Williams, Clifton Davis, Hinton Battle, Will Wheaton, Jenifer Lewis and Smoth Jazz saxophonist Michael Lington. In 2006 John received a GRAMMY award as Co-Director along with Gladys Knight for Best Gospel Choir
Nikko Allen on LEAD VOCALS — Powerhouse LA-based vocalist. Nikko is the Worship Leader at Shepherd of the Hills Church in LA. Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Nikko Allen has been singing since a young age and debuted her first solo in church at age eight. Nikko also sings professionally all over the world lending her talents to commercials, TV shows and for numerous artists’ albums, including COLORS 2.0. Nikko was Very thankfully introduced to COLORS 2.0 through John Fluker, our Male lead vocalist (and also a member of Shepherd of the Hills) on this BRAND NEW DAY EP.
Mark Van Wageningen on BASS (Going Home and Samba) — top studio bass player, born & raised in Amsterdam, Netherlands, moved to Berkeley, CA in 1980 and has since then worked with numerous musicians such as Sheila E., Tower Of Power, Stan Getz and George Duke. He also wrote sound tracks for several movies and tv-series.
Cedric Anderson (DRUMS on Brand New Day and Forever A Flower) — LA-based KICK ASS drummer who plays with LOTS of great artists including Toni Braxton, Karen Briggs, Cal Bennett, Michelle Shocked, Paul Brown, The Mighty Clouds of Joy and MANY others.

Track 1 “Brand New Day” – Earth Wind & Fire meets Santana meets COLORS 2.0. Toshi Yanagi plays some AWESOME rock-out guitar on this track…. The song inspired by having gone through some Very difficult times in recent years… life sometimes throws some Major Curve Balls… but I got through it and I’m still standing and the PAST is the PAST and we now “Lift our Voice and Rejoice for the Brand New Day”! Onwards and Upwards!

Track 2 “I Know You’re Here” – affirmation of the higher power, could be construed as a universal love song…. perhaps slated for CeCe & BeBe Winans.
Track 3 “Going Home” (VOCAL version) – spiritual journey of returning to that special place we call “home”. Co-wrote instrumental version 20 years ago, updated with Lyrics and rearranged here. I will be releasing this Vocal Version along with instrumental version Track #6 — I hear this track in a Disney-like film, Broadway Musical, other
Track 4 “Forever A Flower” inspired by and dedicated to my Dear Mom who died quite suddenly & unexpectedly Valentine’s Day 2008. She collapsed into the arms of her then-Valentine of 57 years (my Dad) in the lobby of a theater / drama playhouse. True story. The song is an expression of her beauty, grace, the seasons and her ascension to a higher place…. I hear Vanessa Williams, similar, singing this track, and I hear it in the opening and closing credits of a romance, drama, tear-jerker type film.
Track 5 “Samba do Coração” (“Samba from the Heart” in Portuguese) wrote 30 years ago, rearranged, updated here. My life-long love affair with Brazilian music and rhythm. Will Kennedy SMOKES on this track.
Track 6 “Going Home” (instrumental version with Vocal ad-libs on Outro) – see Track 3.
